Built in the 1950s, the Beijing Concert Hall was originally a central cinema, then assigned to the Chinese Symphony Orchestra and renamed the Beijing Concert Hall. After long-term use, the original facilities of the concert hall had been becoming increasingly dilapidated; especially the fire fighting, heating and other facilities are seriously outdated.
The concert hall had been renovated with a total investment of RMB 36 million. This renovation had been carried out on the basis of not changing the original building style.
SBS supplied the acoustic shell, and various suspenders, lampposts, etc.
